NAMED 323rd BS, 91st BG Tail Gunner’s Dress Uniform…
Named to Gordon L. Lenaz who was a member of the famed 91st Bombardment Group (same Bomb Group as the Memphis Bell). SSgt. Gordon Lenaz few 35 combat missions beginning shortly before, during and after D-day and is credited with two confirmed arial victories as a tail gunner in the B-17 dubbed “Mary Lou”
This uniform walked into the Fort Worth, TX. gunshow and the seller shared how it was separated from the painted A-2 Leather Jacket which I find surfaced and was sold by IMA not too long ago.
This uniform is in very fine condition… no major staining or mothing and all the patches are English made… even the ribbons appear English made. This uniform has the rare Blue Wool Felt backing which signifies him as a member of a “combat aircrew”. This uniform has great history with a lot of research already done for the next owner which includes GO Award Cards, Newspaper articles, Photographs and so on.
