For sale is an original Luftwaffe Radio Operator /Air Gunner badge, war time zinc construction. The badge is unmarked, made by FLL evidenced by design characteristics. After June 1942, and qualifications for air gunners and engineers which would have earned them the seperate Air Gunner badge introduced in 1935 would instead award them this badge, originally designed in 1935 for radio operators only. This, being a zinc badge, was likely awarded mid-late war.
