Soldbuch and documents grouping for Gefr. Heinrich Kienle, 3rd Gebirgsjager Division. Soldbuch opened in October 1942. Kienle served in 1.Radf.Abt 113 (1 Komp. Bicycle Cav, Battalion 113) and Stabschw. Aufkl.Abt 83 (Hq. Cav Troop Recon Battalion 83), both battalions on the Eastern Front. He saw service in Lenningrad & Velikiye-Luki and made his withdraw through Ukraine, Hungary & Slovakia before his capture as a POW by the Russians. His division surrendered in Silesia, May 1945.
Black wound badge award document issued to Grenadier Kielne, 1/Radf.Abt 113, August 25, 1943 for wound on August 11, 1943 in Donez-Mius area. Wound tag from that shrapnel wound to his right arm also included.
Iron Cross 2nd class award document issued to Gefreiter Kienle, Stabschw. Aufkl. Abt. 83, March 20, 1945 with signature from Knight’s Cross & Oak Leaves recipient Gen.Lt. Paul Klatt.
Post-war Russian POW release document.
