Original NAMED (SHIBAHARA) WWII Japanese Type-90 Combat Helmet… in good condition… paint is nice with some minor scratching and loss… appears to have a clear protective coat on the helmet inside and out thus giving it a shine. The liner is complete and the leather is still pliable (no cracking or dry rot but the stitching is fragile and has come loose in a couple places (3 stitches at the back). Both helmet shell and liner are marked SIZE Large. The split pins are the correct army type that have a domed head rounded edges to the pins. The helmet star is also an original correct type with rounded edges on the pin tabs. Unfortunately this one does not have a chin tie.
NOTE: Interestingly the star and split pin domes appear to be white in color… there has been a discussion on one of the forums regarding this practice but it is not known what it represents. The last few pictures are of another helmet with the white star that is in my personal collection and a couple original wartime pictures of helmets with white stars.
