Original Vet Liberated Single Decal M40 SS Helmet…

Here for your consideration is a Q64 single decal M40 SS helmet which retains about 40 % of it’s original decal. This was purchased out of a West Texas estate. Brought back by WWII veteran 1st Lt. Oscar E. Cannon… unfortunately I have very little information about his service and where specifically he found this helmet.

The helmet retains much of it’s original green paint but it has a rusty patina overall as can be seen in the pictures. On top can be seen a white painted V which is period and I can only assume represents V for Victory.

The leather liner is complete but dry with a few cracks and one of the fingers has pulled through where the string would be inserted to adjust the fit.

The long side of the chinstrap is missing but the short buckle strap is present but very dry.

This helmet has been checked out by a number of reputable dealers and has been confirmed to be legit… so bid with confidence knowing that fact and knowing that I stand behind whatever I sell and accept returns if said item is not as described.
