WW2 German Waffen SS em/nco Aluminum Belt Buckle RZM36/40

Textbook original em/nco waffen SS aluminum belt buckle by Overhoff & Cie. Buckle is cast aluminum, originally with silver wash that has mostly worn off on this example. RZM marked 36/40 and SS marked enclosed in a double circle by the RZM code. Initials “DJ” are scratched into the backside of buckle above the RZM mark. Only remnants of the silver wash can be seen in the corners and recesses on the reverse side of the insignia and buckle itself (compare the contrast of reflection on bare aluminum/silver wash in picture #13 & 14). Loss of detail from wear on some raised surfaces, most noticable on the eagle’s breast feathers and wreath encircling the swastika. Combat worn and not as pretty as the day it was made, but no doubt of its legitimacy.
